Teachers Benevolent Fund
As we all are aware, this fund was initiated in earnest by the Old Columbans Association, after the unfortunate incident involving an ex-teacher of SCS, who was promptly and adequately rehabilitated, and with many past students of SCS volunteering to donate money to help our other similar educators in distress.
The Executive Committee of the OCA unanimously approved the formation of the Managing Committee which will be responsible for running this fund.
It is an honour to introduce to you the Founding Managing Committee Members of the OCA Teachers Benevolent Fund with the following distinguished members :

Rules of running of the Fund as deliberated and decided by the EC:
Eligibility of Beneficiary from the fund
Only teachers, serving and/or retired, with no min years of service.
Approval
No money shall be released without the explicit approval from the Managing Committee heading the fund.
Assessing need
Committee is empowered to deliberate and take the call of the “need” of the beneficiary based on funds available.
No monthly pension
No money would be given as a monthly pension.
No target size
There shall be no target size of the fund. The aim would be to raise as much money as possible so that in time of need adequate funds are available.
Stand with our teachers
The teachers who shaped us deserve support in their time of need. Every contribution adds to a fund that is there when a teacher needs it.
